Coming Soon: I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S NOT KINGDOM COME
It's the End-Times thriller that's NOT an End-Times thriller. And the mob is in no mood to discuss end-times theology...
I’m planning to serialize an edited version of one of my previously published novels. Originally published as TRIBULATION HOUSE, this is a crime comedy that involves some confusion over misinterpreted religious stuff. Here’s my brand-new book trailer!
Thinking he knows the time and date for the return of Jesus, a man borrows a lot of money from a loan shark for one last fling. But the world fails to end on schedule--which could be a problem...
I plan to start serializing the book here soon. If you’re not yet a subscriber, click this button to stay up to date.
The novel was originally published under the title Tribulation House in 2007. I’m going to be serializing an edited (i.e., “improved”) version of the book under the title I always wanted: I Can’t Believe It’s Not Kingdom Come.
Years ago, this book was part of an unfinished book series written for a religious publisher. It’s an ensemble book with interconnected stories following a confused churchgoer, two beleaguered cops, a pair of put-upon mobsters, and a well-meaning do-gooder running for election.
As I begin serializing it here at Substack, I’m hoping to also share some behind-the-scenes stuff. Like, maybe I’ll tell you why my publisher didn’t like the original title. And maybe I’ll tell you why this book was part of an unfinished series. And other stuff like that.
I also want to mention that I have brand new fiction that I’m also planning to serialize here at Substack. Which—in fact—will be way closer to what I do for the Monster Complex brand.
But I wanted to use Kingdom Come first while I’m figuring out this system. Back when it was published, I got a few nice endorsements:
“Laugh out loud at Well’s delightful satire of the underworld and the evangelical world.” (PUBLISHERS WEEKLY)
“Gilded in satire, Well takes a punch at religious misunderstandings and end times prophesies.” (THE SUSPENSE ZONE)
*EDITOR'S PICK* “Well has taken his craft even higher...” (NEW MAN MAGAZINE)
